This is a video showreel created for a module called "Kinetic Graphics". The assignment required us to make a video showreel of all our past works in correlation to the theme of the previous 2 assignments for the module .

 

THE THEME:

Following my website and video advertisement in the first 2 parts of the assignment, I ensured the overall mood and theme of the showreel was also sexy and mature, to create consistency and achieve a nice 3 part series for

the module.

 

THE PROCESS:

Due to the fact that this assignment required me to showcase my 2016 and 2017 works, I had to pick and choose which works were suitable for the theme. Since putting brightly coloured illustrative works would be too contrasting and inappropriate for the risqué theme of the video, I could only choose a few good works. I also placed in some videos taken from the internet that helped to enhance the sexiness of the video. This was a good touch and really made the video even sexier. I also used a reddish tone in the whole showreel and this made the video more mysterious and dark. As for song choice, I chose Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" 50 Shades of Grey remix. This song had been stuck in my head for a few days prior to the making of the video and it seemed appropriate enough and suited the theme well.

THE REFLECTION:

If not for this module, I would not have been able to fully explore Adobe After Effects and its functions. I have improved so much in the software compared to the previous year and I am so thankful for this module for igniting my love for video editing. Even though the video may not be the best, I am very proud of myself because I previously felt that video editing was my handicap and the one thing I could not do well.
